Atiku and Peter Obi

A coalition of Peter Obi and Yusuf Ahmed Datti backers for the presidency of the Labour Party (LP) has distanced itself from a campaign poster depicting Atiku Abubakar, the front-runner of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi as the party’s nominees for president and vice president in the general election of 2023.

Elder Musa Abel, the Chairman of the Obidatti Coalition, termed the development as a deliberate attempt to mislead the thronging supporters of the LP in the state while speaking with journalists in Bauchi on Monday.

The purposeful campaign of misinformation being run by some people who are determined to mislead the throngs of Obidients in Bauchi State has caught the attention of the Coalition of Obidatti Support Groups in that state. It aims to undermine HE Peter Obi’s unquestionable victory in the presidential election.

This is an effort to harm us by using the popularity of HE Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, to connect him with a rival group. They assert that these are posters for 2019, and the people who put them up were unaware that HE Peter Obi is no longer a member of the PDP, which is cause for grave concern.

“Peter Obi and Senator Yusuf Ahmed Datti are becoming increasingly well-liked as Nigerians demand a true change. As we build on our successes, we urge our thronging support organizations to intensify grassroots mobilization and sensitization of the campaign.
